Intro To CAD Part 1: Installing Autodesk Inventor Professional

Within the FIRST Tech Challenge, CAD plays an essential role in planning out the design for the bot or archive designs for future members to reference from. However, which application would be suitable for completing such a task?

A good suggestion is Autodesk Inventor Professional, as it only requires you to download the 3d file for a part and connect them.

However, how does one access it? This blog will direct you step-by-step through how to install Autodesk Inventor Professional.

Autodesk Guide

  1. Navigate to Autodesk Education Page. If you already have a student account, please skip to Step 13
  2. Click "Get started". Mecanum Drivetrain
  3. Select the Educational Role that best suits your position! Mecanum Drivetrain
  4. Fill rest of required info then press "NEXT"! Mecanum Drivetrain

  6. Sign into the new account! Mecanum Drivetrain

  8. Click "Get Educational Access" Mecanum Drivetrain
  9. Fill out the following information as it relates to you (if your school is not in the dropdown menu that is fine). Mecanum Drivetrain
  10. Click "CONFIRM" Mecanum Drivetrain
  11. After which you will need to upload documented confirmation of your enrollment in highschool e.g I.D, report card Mecanum Drivetrain

Please Note! This process could take days so do not be alarmed if there is no immediate response.

  1. After your new account has been approved by Autodesk, navigate to the homepage Mecanum Drivetrain
  2. Click your profile image Mecanum Drivetrain
  3. Click "Products and services" Mecanum Drivetrain
  4. Click "Products and Services" Mecanum Drivetrain
  5. Scroll down to Inventor Professional and select install Mecanum Drivetrain

Tip! You can select the drop-down arrow to download the Installer manually.
